The show will be held at The Huntington, the magnificent former estate of Henry and Arabella Huntington, now an intellectual and cultural powerhouse that attracts over 750,000 visitors annually. The show attracts some of the country’s best artists and features exceptional juried paintings and 3-D art work including glass art, ceramics, pottery, sculpture, and jewelry created especially for the show by selectively invited artisans. Proceeds from Spring into Art fund the endowment of the Japanese Garden at The Huntington and provide Fine Art Scholarships at ArtCenter College of Design. Fifty percent of the price of the art is tax deductible to the buyer. The quest for the perfect form matched with the ideal surface, color, or pattern is an ongoing challenge. But most exciting are the new possibilities that open up through experimentation. Using the traditional techniques to create something fresh and modern is what I am most interested in right now. This approach allows me to feel grounded in the traditions of the material but also free to depart and explore the possibilities, which are indeed infinite. It took me awhile to finally make the plunge into the digital world and launch my own website.
